Cows
The genetic make up of our cow herd consists of trace amounts of Hereford and red angus, however black angus and sim-angus have become dominate in our breeding program. We have taken Leachman bulls and crossed them on our commercial herd of cows. Our cattle herd is built with functionality, productivity, and longevity in mind.
Our program is built on a herd of moderate sized, efficient cows. The cow herd operates in a hilly pasture based production system. The cows are required to breed and wean a respectable calf with minimal supplementations and maintain good flesh or face being culled. We have high expectations and our cows are strictly culled for disposition, feet and bone, efficiency and quality. The cattle are traditionally handled with horses, which we believe contributes to quiet cattle handling experiences. Our cows work for a living and our bulls are built to last. |
